Dr. Wilnaye A. Bain
Dr. Wilnaye A. Bain was born and raised in Nassau, The Bahamas. After completing her secondary education at Queen’s College, she began her tertiary studies at The College of The Bahamas with an AA in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. She travelled to Barbados to attend the University of the West Indies (U.W.I.) Cave Hill and graduated with a BSc in Biochemistry & Chemistry.
Dr. Bain had a strong desire to become a physician from childhood, which was fueled by the loss of her grandparents and godfather. She embarked on her medical journey at the U.W.I. Mona & Bahamas campuses, and graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS); additionally, she was named the 2013 Class Valedictorian.
After working for several years within the public hospital system, she became passionate about primary care within The Bahamas and subsequently joined the Family Medicine postgraduate program at UWI Bahamas campus. She has successfully completed a Doctor of Medicine in Family Medicine in July 2023. Dr. Bain believes that every Bahamian deserves the right to adequate primary care and is grateful to be a part of the Family Medicine team.
